MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The Latin popular music scene has been impacted by his international popularity. Una Lady Como Tu, the hit song from 2016 was awarded the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for the Best Song. In 2017, he released ADN The First Long-Player to La Industria Inc. in Medellin. This album peaked at eight in the Top Latin Albums charts. He then joined Ozuna to record the Top Five smash Vaina Loca. He released in 2020 his charting sophomore album Dopamina and collaborated on Mala Influencia with Noriel. The singer appeared in 2021 in a duet with TINI on her streaming hit song Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. His mother and brother were musicians at the time he was born. Turizo has told interviews that music is an essential part of his life. As a child he learned how to play the ukulele, saxophone as well as piano. His initial choice of career was to be a veterinarian however, his brother Julian persuaded him to learn to sing with a Cuban teacher. What he got was discovering that he had the ability to sing, altered the direction of his life.
